Immediate Release Technique (IRT)
Ranae
Johnson, founder of the Rapid Eye Institute, developed the
Immediate Release Technique (IRT) curriculum based on over
25 years of behavioral research and applied science. IRT provides
trauma victims with a safe, drug free technique for the rapid
release of panic, negative emotions and behaviors while assisting
with pain control.
This process is made of three powerful therapies:
- Rapid eye movement from the Rapid Eye Technology model
- Acupressure technique from Polarity Therapy
- Repetitive focusing from Gestalt Psychotherapy
This program was developed with clinical and editorial input
from professional trauma workers and trauma survivors. IRT
does not provide psychotherapy, but offers possibilities of
stress relief and additional effective tools for crisis management
for the first responder and recipient.
IRT is designed to assist in alleviating the negative emotional
thought process. Desensitizing eye movement and eye patching
to calm and a cognitive reframing process known as Skills
for Life. IRT is intended to desensitize and release the trauma
associated with present time issues. The information presented
demonstrates how to deal with uncomfortable emotions quickly
and safely. IRT has proven itself a highly effective tool
for scene management, emotional crisis prevention and pain
management.
This course provides theory and instruction of hands on application
to be used by first responders both in the field and as a
self care process to assist in stress relief. Proficient use
of such skills is to be demonstrated by the student upon completion
of class. This course is intended to complement any health
care modality. It is available to all professionals in contact
with individuals confronted by challenging emotional states.
