Immediate Release Technique (IRT) Used after Hurricane Katrina

Following the Katrina Hurricane Disaster, IRT teams were dispatched to Biloxi, MS to work with the traumatized 911 operators suffering from Compassion Fatigue, PTSD, due to the sense of overwhelming hopelessness. The team also visited women’s shelters in the area. In every case, both volunteers and survivors reported significant relief in anxiety and a renewed hope for the future.
